Aspect Biosystems is building implantable allogeneic tissue technology designed to replace, repair, or supplement a biological function the body has lost, an approach the company terms Bioprinted Tissue Therapeutics (BTTs). Aspect's full-stack tissue therapeutic platform integrates proprietary AI-powered bioprinting, computational tissue design, therapeutic cells, hypoimmune cell engineering, and advanced biomaterials supported by a multi-year partnership with Novo Nordisk. Their T1D program comprises allogeneic stem cell-derived islet clusters bioprinted within immune-protective materials to form a retrievable pancreatic tissue capable of sensing glucose and releasing insulin toward maintaining normal glycemia without chronic immunosuppression.
