Dr. Ethel Codner

Dr. Ethel Codner is a pediatric endocrinologist and full professor at the Institute of Maternal and Child Research of the University of Chile in Santiago. Her research centers on type 1 diabetes in children and adolescents, including its genetics and immunology and its effects on reproductive health in women. She is a co-editor of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes Clinical Practice Consensus Guidelines used worldwide. She helped design Chile's national AUGE coverage plan for T1D and was elected to the Chilean Academy of Medicine.
