Ginger Vieira

Ginger Vieira is an author, speaker, and diabetes content specialist based in Vermont who has lived with type 1 diabetes for 25 years, alongside celiac disease and hypothyroidism. She has written eight books on managing diabetes. The titles include Exercise with Type 1 Diabetes, Pregnancy with Type 1 Diabetes, Dealing with Diabetes Burnout, and the children's picture books When I Go Low and Ain't Gonna Hide My T1D. A former record-setting powerlifter, she produces the Diabetes Nerd video series on YouTube. She has created patient education content for organizations including mySugr, Omnipod, T1D Exchange, Diamyd, and Zucara Pharmaceuticals. Her mission is turning complex diabetes research and science into digestible, practical guidance for people living with the condition.
