Sanofi is a global pharmaceutical company and one of the world's largest insulin manufacturers, with products including Lantus, Toujeo, and Admelog. Its role in the T1D cure ecosystem grew sharply in 2023 when it acquired Provention Bio and with it Tzield (teplizumab). Tzield is the first and only FDA-approved disease-modifying therapy shown to delay the onset of Stage 3 type 1 diabetes in at-risk individuals. Diabetes is one part of a broad portfolio spanning immunology, oncology, vaccines, and rare diseases.
