Company

CellTrans

CellTrans is the sponsor of Lantidra (donislecel), the first FDA-approved islet replacement therapy for type 1 diabetes. Lantidra is made from deceased-donor allogeneic pancreatic islets and is indicated for adults with T1D who cannot approach target HbA1c because of repeated episodes of severe hypoglycemia despite intensive diabetes management and education. The infused allogeneic islets, derived from deceased donors, secrete insulin, allowing some recipients to reduce or stop injected insulin; per the FDA, of 30 trial participants, 21 did not need insulin for a year or more, with 11 for one to five years and 10 for more than five years.
