Karen Jordan

Karen Jordan chairs Breakthrough T1D's International Board of Directors, a two-year term she began on July 1, 2026 after more than a decade of service on that board and its committees. A former investment banker, she has chaired the board's Research Committee, its Finance and Investment Committee, its Funding Committee, and Breakthrough T1D's Northern California Chapter Board. She also sits on the board of the T1D Fund, a Breakthrough T1D Venture, and on the boards of Stanford Health Care and Stroke Onward. Breakthrough T1D named her the inaugural recipient of its John Brady Award for Innovation, and Stanford University has honored her with its Governor's Award. Her work on the disease began in 2008 when her daughter Ali was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and Karen received her own diagnosis in 2023.
