Shinobi Therapeutics

Shinobi Therapeutics is a binational biotechnology company developing off-the-shelf, immune-evasive iPSC-derived cell therapies. Its hypoimmune Evade gene-editing technology, co-invented by Tobias Deuse of UCSF, is designed to protect allogeneic cells from T-cell, NK-cell, macrophage, and antibody-mediated rejection. That is the same class of immune-evasion approach being pursued to enable islet replacement for type 1 diabetes without lifelong immunosuppression. Shinobi is not T1D-focused; its lead programs target solid-tumor oncology and autoimmune disease. The company is built on the research of scientific co-founders Deuse and Shin Kaneko of Kyoto University.
