EndoCell Therapeutics

EndoCell Therapeutics is developing E-islet 01, an allogeneic regenerative islet tissue grown from endoderm stem cells. The platform runs a scaled-up in vitro pancreatic differentiation route that aims to yield tissue that is fully functional in the body without forming tumors. A Phase 1/2 study opened to recruitment in August 2025 and enrolls adults who have type 1 diabetes with impaired hypoglycemia awareness and severe hypoglycemia. The therapy is the first regenerative islet product cleared for trials by both the Chinese and the United States drug regulators.
