T1D Exchange
T1D Exchange is a nonprofit that turns the everyday experience of people with type 1 diabetes into research evidence. Its registry enrolls people with T1D to contribute data and join studies, and more than 23,000 have signed up. Hundreds of studies have drawn on it. Its second arm is the T1D Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative, launched in 2016 with support from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust. That collaborative is now a network of more than 50 endocrinology clinics that share data to spread what works, and between them they care for over 80,000 people with type 1 diabetes. It also runs an online community for people living with the disease, and everything it does is type 1 diabetes specific.
